Various thoughts
May 30, 2008
I realize that I have been quiet the last few days but life is getting in the way of my blogging. First I was out of town and I really enjoyed my time away from reality, then there are health concerns within my family, and there is a new puppy running around driving me nuts and giving me so much joy at the same time.
My oldest has been asking for a puppy for the last 8 months and since I have sucker written on my forehead I got him a nice little guy from the pound. 8 weeks old and neutered and his shots up to date for $85. A very good deal. If you are interested in a new pet, look to the shelters and pounds. There are a lot of nice animals just begging for a new home.
Okay, back to the point I am so laboriously trying to make. Life throws you curve balls on a regular basis. So how can we deal with life and still function? By taking everything one day at a time. It doesn’t matter what your angst may be. It doesn’t matter if you are trying to put the drink down, believe that God loves you, or trying to lose weight. (Or a million other things that could be listed here.) All we have to do is say for today I am not doing (whatever) or I will do (whatever) today. Today is all we have and today is the only day we can truly live in.
So for today I choose to believe that God loves me just as I am, I choose to find the wonder of dew on the grass as I take the new puppy out for a BR break ( very early in the morning I might add), and I choose to believe that everything will work out in the end. One day at a time.
